Koch & Bergfeld ladle dating and crest info needed

Post by glenna »

Here are the pictures of German ladle, identified as Koch & Bergfeld aproxim. after 1884.
But not sure about more precise dating. Please, help.
It also bears the unknown family crest.
Your professional opinion and information would be very much appreciated.

Hello, can't help with the crest, but "R. Hoer" is Reinhold Hoer (b. 1827 in Schlesisch-Nettkow, d. 1888 Görlitz), a jeweller and goldsmith in Görlitz /Silesia, who was the retailer of this piece. The shop of Hoer continued to exist in Görlitz after Reinhold's death, after WW II it was moved to Hanau, where it closed in the 1960ies. The crest might be one of a family from the Silesia region of Germany. As to the dating (just guessing): most likely before 1945, possibly as early as ca. 1900. Best wishes, Bahner

Many thanks, Bahner, for your information.
Am I right, thinking that ladle were made at Koch & Bergfeld, and later, decorated with the family crest вy Hoer?

Should I post separate topic on crest to correspondent forum ?
