Please help me ID this hummingbird pendant

Post by vertigolotus »

This was passed down to me after my mother passed away nearly 2 years ago. All I know about it was that my grandfather found it in North Carolina. It was somewhere between 1956 and 1966.

I would like to know where it was made and by whom. Here are the photos:

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum.

All I can tell you is that your marks are from Taxco Mexico.

I looked at all the taxco marks on that page before I submitted my question but none of them look like what mine looks like. The bell on the side is even different.

MSR is listed in the hallmark book but with no further info. There are more unknown marks than known ones. It's not a famous designer so doesn't affect the value any.

Ah so it's an unknown, that's probably why I was having so much trouble locating any information on it.

Is there any indication of what can tell me what time period this was made in? That is what I am really interested in.

The eagle mark (not a bell) indicates it's from 1948-1979 but since it was found in the 50's that helps narrow it down some.
