tea spoons probably russian?

Post by sally »

I have a set tea spoons - they have a plain front to the bowl and a leafy pattern carved on the back with a set of initials and the silversmiths stamp is Mwith a backward R then the initials CM with an undistinguishable date underneath in the 1800's but thats all i can read and then the number 84 and then what looks like a crab or something any ideas - i thought they may be russian but not sure.

This IS probably Russian Silver.

THe maker does not seem familiar to me, however 84 is a common Russian mark for Silver and the flipped R is a common Cyrillic letter so that does make sense.
