Enkhuizen spoon ?

Post by joho »

Hi - can anyone help with this spoon that appears to be from Enkhuizen. In addition to the marks in the pictures, there is a small mark in the bowl of an animals head facing right. The spoon is heavily gilded in a deep gold colour, which makes me a little suspicious. Is there any way of knowing whether it might be a fake? Would be grateful for any information. many thanks John

Hi,

I have my reservations about this new looking spoon and the quality of the work.
Please go to: http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=21804" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Please read and look carefully at the shown photos and draw your own conclusion.
However the best is to have the spoon appraised by an expert, perhaps a well known auction house could give information about the hallmarks.

Regards an Happy New Year
