sterling seal top spoon

Post by teddybearwis »

My reference book has failed me. I have an English sterling seal top spoon, which measures 6 1/2" in length. The bowl is stamped with the crowed leopard. LONDON. the back of the spoon has the makers mark of TB over a star in a shield. Lion passant for sterling and date letter P for 1552-1553. CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THE MAKERS MARK?

Can I ask how you have dated this item...without seeing the hallmark in it's entirety it might be difficult to give any sort of opinion. Could you please put a pic of the marks on here. Best wishes, Mike.
