Heavy .800 hexagonal tray - Is it Spliedt?

Post by kbeatty48 »

The mark on this tray is partially obscured. It does have the crescent & crown, so I know it's German. I think it might be by Hermann Spliedt. Can you help me positively identify the maker? It is .800 silver & measures 13-1/2" in diameter. It weighs 685 grams (1 lb. 8 oz.).
Thank you,
Karen

Hi,

Looks like a Wilkens mark, see: http://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_marks_a1884_6.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
