Need ID on Tea/Coffee Urn...French Made?

Post by jmarkitell »

I have an Antiques shop and a customer brought in a fairly old Tea or Coffee urn. The marks or stamps on the bottom aren't as clear as I'd like and I can't seem to find ANY info on the maker or history of this item. It appears to have a 925 stamp and the wording "Viguer" on the bottom, along with a word I can't make out. I have attached 3 pictures of the item...two close-ups of the bottom and one of the entire urn. Any and all help is most appreciated in helping to ID this old timer.

Welcome to the forum.

I believe that's 0.925, Vigueras and maybe sterling.

Plateria Vigueras was located in Mexico city.
Used eagle mark number 35. Eagle marks were used roughly from 1948 to 1980.

Pat.
