I believe this is a Lawson Co Spoon but i need help with the date mark. I believe that third mark is a Q and i didn't see it on any Glasgow date charts but it would be 1745 on the Edinburgh chart. I am fairly positive this company was still in business in the early 1900's and the Q may of been up again in 1913. If any one has any information on this date or company please let me know - Thank you
Lawson Co Glasgow Date Mark 1745?
Re: Lawson Co Glasgow Date Mark 1745?
The date the spoon was assayed at Glasgow was indeed 1913.
Lawson & Co. Ltd. were located at 85, Buchanan Street, Glasgow. They also entered marks at the Chester Assay Office with Thomas B. Lawson being noted as a Director in 1915.

There are several avaliable, if you want a good general coverage then may l suggest "Jacksons Siver and Gold Marks" edited by lan Pickford ISBN 0-907462-63-4, prices seem to vary from £41 upwards, if you want to specialise in London or other Citys then ask again.
