Hi,
This is a sort of chamberstick (with a fuse instead of a candle) marked Venice. Heavy solid quality. There is also a picture of the handle with a French nowadays controlmark on it.
The chamberstick could be 18e century, but it couls also be not old. Anyone ho knows?
Regards,
Zilverik

Old Venice chamberstick ? Or pseudo?
Re: Old Venice chamberstick ? Or pseudo?
Hi,
It was suggested to me thatI suppose that this sort of chamber stick is maybe a ‘smoker’s comfort’ because of the functional elements and very old sales catalogues from end 18th and beginning 19th centuries.
Well, I don't think so. It is a "Wachsschnurhalter" for lightning. I found in Alain Grubers book " Gebrauchssilber" more information.
