It is made in St Petersburg by a Finn Mathias Räihelin born 1800 in Säkkijärvi, a county in Finland on the to Soviet 1945 lost Carelian isthmus. He came 1819 to St Petersburg and became apprentice,, in 1825 journeyman and master in 1828. He married Helena Petersdotter Lujain from the Finnish town of Viborg also on the today lost area. Mathias died 21.12.1843 and his wife 6.6.1864. The spoon is assayed by Dimitri Tverskoi in 1839 in St Petersburg. It is of course in silver and the fineness is 84 zolotnik i.e. 875/1000.
