Greetings
I am researching the production of French gold cases for Omega from the late fourties to and including the sixties.
I believe there were regulations that may have probibited the importation of golf cases, and hence cases were made locally in France. A similar situation prevailed in the UK.
While I have found it easy to identify the UK case makers, I am having trouble identifying French makers. In the attached pic below there is a makers mark that looks like PGF. Is anyone able to tell me the name and place of the case maker? I believe this case would have been produced in the sixties.
Many thanks, in anticipation.
Regards
Desmond

Hi Desmond,
Welcome to the Forum.
The mark image is none too clear, if you cannot capture a clearer image, try drawing what you see and photograph that.

Thanks Trev for your reply.
I have attached two pics below that show up the mark more distinctly.
Looks like TGF

Hello,
Go to this French site:
http://www.culture.gouv.fr/public/mistr ... 4%24%2534P" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and type in Fondary next to patronyme(s) for Pierre Fondary.
Not sure, just offering a possibility.
Pat.
