I have one interesting article, but I don’t know what it is intended for. May be, is this a saltcellar, and may be an ashtray? Interestingly, that I have meet the similar items with horizontal bar, which was made just in Scandinavian countries. May be, is this some national article?

Is there something you push that opens the top so it opens up like a box? If yes, and if there is something up top where you can set a cigarette down, it is an ashtray. After you put out your cigarette, you open the top so the cigarette butts and ash drops down inside, and the top stays clean. and you can throw put the ash and butts later.

I remember those ashtrays were common in the 60s when I was a child.
