Hi Etranger -
all I can say to your lady´s purse: it is original, even the chain, which was often replaced - look for marked chain eyelets!
Townmark: Odessa,1908-17(26), silvercontent 84 Zolotniki = 875/1000
Maker: Г. С, unknown

Hi Postnikov,
of course I know that it's Odessa city mark but what do you think about the work quality? Could it make (I mean the engraving) by two different craftsmen?

Hi -
within a firm there were several workmen doing different things. But it was very seldom and only with very exclusive things that an order was given to another firm. Tis purses exist in different styles and qualitys - from simple to sophisticated.

Could it be that the engraving in the corner just an owners initials that were done at the time of sale by the retail jeweler or even at a later date?

Hi silverly -
If you want to speculate, there are several possybilities:
1) the purse was without pattern and "naked" - only with a professional made monogramm (my version)
2) the purse was later sloppy engraved with flowers etc. by a non-professional to make it look more interesting
The misfitting engravings are obvious.
