Sicilian Sterling Flatware

Post by Peterpepper »

I was gifted with what I believe as sicilian sterling silver flatware (set and servery). I am researching any information relating to its origin, hallmark, dating or any other information on these pieces. Thank you for any assistance that you can provide.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

From what I can make out of the marks on your set, it does appear to be 800/1000 standard silver with a city mark of Palermo, and dated 1944-1968. The '42' would indicate the maker, unknown to me.

Hi Agostino,

Do you details of a reference for Italian manufacturers? I've never managed to find one.

Yes I do, I'm mostly involved in Italian Silver, so if you have other questions just let me know !

However the Sicialian Company Bernardo Lupo one of the oldest in Palermo, is no longer in activity .

The quality of the cutlery set is excellent .
