I recently inheirited a little bell that I know nothing about.
It has a "C" over a "S" and a "R" with "LTD" below the "C" and between/above the "S" and R".
To the right of that is a box with a lion standing on three legs, lion's right leg is raised.
Then there's a box with a leopard in it.
And finally there's a box with a weird letter "q" in it.
I am anxious to find out more about this little bell.
I don't know how old it is, where it was made, or by whom.
I've searched my local library (little informaiton) and the internet without success.
Unfortunatley, my great aunt has passed away and I have no way of finding out anything about this.
I'd love to know something about it so when I pass it down, I can do so with a bit of information.
Thank you SO MUCH for any assistance you fine, knowledgeable people can render.
sterling bell "C" "S" "R" "LTD"?

I have no idea who the maker is, unable to find a reference with a name of who they are just yet.

The maker is literally CSR Ltd. according to this UK website:
http://www.silvermakersmarks.co.uk/Make ... CS-CZ.html
Sorry, I couldn't locate any information on the company.

Well I'll be! Thank you!
That's the FIRST TIME I've seen this mark ANYWHERE else!
Too bad there's no information on "CSR Ltd" out there.
I wonder if CSR is a store, a retailer, vs. a maker of sterling.
Thank you VERY MUCH for finding that site and posting it. (Bookmarked it)
A happy new year to you, too!

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately the website quoted usually records the initials on the mark only in a situation where the name of the registered owner is still unidentified and almost certainly there will be more to it than just GSR Ltd.
Despite the mark being 40 years old it is relatively new and hasn't, so far as is known, yet appeared in a publication attributing a name to it.
London Goldsmiths Hall should be able to identify it for you. If you do discover the name of the company will you please let the Forum know the answer.
