Silver Cigarette case - Need Makers Help

Post by Nightfire-Player »

I have a silver cigarette case with a gold coloured inside and using the british hallmarks page I have managed to tell that it's from Birmingham Sterling Silver and from 1918 However I cannot identify the makers properly.

I will try and get a photo as soon as I can but the area around the mark is slightly damaged and it's making it difficult to read.

For now I think the mark read " G & CJ " however I cannot be sure.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

Could the mark G & CJ be G & CO ?
G & CO is one of many marks used by Garrard & Company during its history. I've seen their pieces assayed in both Birmingham and London. Have also seen silver cigarette cases made by them.
