Kupittaan Kulta import mark?

Post by lulu650 »

Hi, I've a circa 1970s pendant in the shape of a cat on silver with some gold wash. In addition to the anvil mark and 925S it also has NB. Is that an import mark or the name of a designer? I have the excellent book "Finnish Silver" but it makes no mention of any designer with those initials.
Thanks in advance :-)

I've added a picture of the clasp which I don't think is the original. It's a star sign, 1, AR. There's also some capital letters with a couple of dashes in a lozenge shape. This can't be distinguised at all due to a ring of the necklace getting in the way.Image

I've added another picture of the maker's mark on the clasp of the necklace and now understand it's Italian.Image

Hi,

Thanks for adding the extra image, it confirms what you already know, the maker of the chain is the Italian manufacturer, Unoaerre, of Arezzo.

See: http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic ... 3&start=35" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

For what it's worth, Kupittaan Kulta Oy were based in Turku and their working period was, I believe, 1945-1997.
