Austro Hungarian Jeweled St Nicholas Icon 1910 Origin Mark H

Post by electrumomorris »

Hello,

I just bought this small Icon, statue of St Nicholas. He carries an Austro-Hungarian empire import hallmark from 1900-1918. I can't identify the other marks that I assume are from the country of origin. The 950 is in a rectangular lozange and the initials appear to be an x and O or just a P in an odd shape. Very detailed, gilt silver with rubies and diamonds along with enameled clothing and a jade dais that he stands on. If any one knows what the marks are or even what an object like this is called I would be most appreciative.

a couple more photos showing the enameling work.

Size is 4" tall and 2.5" wide. Mitre is white, vestments are purple with yellow trim and ropes are cyan.
