This piece of sterling jewelry is a chain, about 12" long, with a baby/beauty pin at each end. Does anyone know what this is called and/or how it was worn? Thank you.
The two end look like purse handles to me, does it look like the item is in its original form, or possible the chains and parts where put together by someone for some specific purpose?
Looks like a baby pin set to me - the pins would be used to close the back of of a baby's dress, the chains kept them together, sometimes there are three pins.
These were made by Balou in the early 1920's. They came in pairs and were called lingerie supporteurs. The went over the shoulders to hold up the garment.
