Hi
I've had this high-grade silver inkstand for many years. Originally thought it was Indian but the poppies and marks suggest perhaps Chinese or South East Asian.
Anyone recognise it or the marks? Thanks

Re: Indian / Chinese Inkstand HMs?
The two hallmarks on the underside look like a smallcase gothic "k" and the Chinese character 隆 ("long"). The left side of the Chinese character is a little rubbed so I may be mistaken. This piece is most likely of Chinese origin, late 19th century. Sorry, I do not know this maker.

Just as David R said, it's the Gothic K mark, it's a unknown mark for a retailer in Hong Kong. But some people felt it's actually gothic "H", and both this mark and the Lombard 'H' mark belonged to Haoching Co.
