I went to an Estate sale and found this in a box along with many Catholic Crosses and medalions...all of the crosses say Italy and one has the year 1830 on it. Also in the lot was this silver stamped item with the mark of V+K on the back...any ideas what I have and where it was made?
Not sure how to upload the picture of the medalion.

Re: Unidentified Medalion mark
I helped Greg out by editing and uploading his pics for him, as per his request. Please look carefully at the picture of the marks - if you try hard, you can see that the only marks are "V + K" - I doubt these marks are those of Dutch maker J. M. Van Kempen & Son, which was my first thought, as the accompanying suite of hallmarks that should go with any Dutch maker mark are not present, but I'll let Oel and other Dutch experts be the judge of that.

Hi,
Quote; ..silver stamped item with the mark of V+K on the back.....
If you ask me, not van Kempen but the mark; V + K in a rectangle does resemble the mark of; A. Verdonk & J. Kuijpers also known as Verdonk & Kuijpers located in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and registered during 1912/1925
‘s-Hertogenbosch once an independent bishopric and later a diocese
Could you please show us an image of the silver stamps?
Oel
