Old gold brooch with strange hallmarks
Re: Old gold brooch with strange hallmarks
Little bit of additional info ,i had this looked at today by a diamond specialist friend ,who thinks that solely based on the cut of the diamond this is a very high end piece of jewelery ,and possibly Faberge .He estimated the manufacture date of around 1880-1900
Thanks
Thanks

Hi,
Sorry to say but I believe your friend is making wild guesses but perhaps your friend can enlighten us about the faded marks?
I also noticed all your images of your previous posts have disappeared. It is important for the benefit of others that images remain in place for as long as possible as information placed on the forum is intended to be a long term reference to be shared with other members. Please be cooperative and replace the images of your previous posts.
Thanks.
Oel.

Re: Old gold brooch with strange hallmarks
Hi Oel
Apologies for the images being removed as my wife shares my photobucket account and has removed them .I may have them zipped up somewhere if so ill re upload them no problems .
My friend does valuations on gems and has graded the diamond at between D and E grade F and the cut is in his words remarkable,i simply went to find out what the stone was plus i had not seen him for a long while, plus the sapphires are Burmese and of the best quality .Due to the grade and quality he has decided to arrange a further meeting with a specialist in antique jewelery .
I placed the images on here simply to see if anyone could shed a light on the marks ,lack of response led to me finding out what the stones were so at least i knew what it was made from which is 14 K and what the stones were .
Regards Oldyin
