Hi all,
on my soup ladle made by Pierre Philipe Rousseau around 1820 is the following crest without any initials. Perhaps it is possible to find out the original owner.
This appears to be the coat of arms for the noted family of science, the VON STRUVE family. They are from German/Prussian/Russian areas and have spread out with the various generations. Gifts from visitors and colleagues could certainly include French silver. It is possible to see a document with the arms on it by entering in Google Image the phrase Stöckhl Struve and it will bring up a listing from a seller in Germany. Kind regards.
