I'm trying to determine the background/history of this mark, please see photo.
Not sure if it may be Russian...
Unknown German Mark *Kiddush Cup*
Re: Unknown German Mark *Kiddush Cup*
Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.
I think your cup is of Israeli origin. Believe the three letters that follow the '800' are Yiddish, reading right to left, the sound would be 'kh' 's' 'f', one of the Yiddish words used for silver is 'kesef' so I feel it is likely that the mark within the oval translates to '800 Silver'.
Hopefully a Yiddish speaker can confirm/deny the above.
Take a look at this page: Guide to World Hallmarks The marks for Israel do bear a similarity to your '32' mark.

Thanks so much Trevor
Re: Unknown German Mark *Kiddush Cup*
I have a similar cup with the hallmarks.
First of all, the language is not yiddish, it is hebrew. The cup is from Israel, not sure about the time myself, but not from Russia. I'm trying to find out what the m (mem) 32 means, but didn't have any luck yet.

Doesn't by any chance relate to the weight of the object?
