tea strainer, possibly Dutch but can't identify the marks

Post by nbhatt »

Dear all

I haven't been able to find the marks on this tea strainer that I acquired some time ago as a piece of continental silver. Any help will be most appreciated.

The image of the tea strainer is no displaying in its entirety as I have had to resize the images to fit the criteria. please let me know if you require to see the entire image.

Hi Nbhatt,

The Master's Mark is upside down.
There is <.HH.> 90 (Herbert Hooijkaas - Schoonhoven)
Unfortunately, this is silver plated, but beautiful.
He used this Master's Mark also in silver

Best regards

Thanks Dendriet

Should have checked the 'silverplate' section - slightly disappointed that I have been had but as you say it is quite beautiful...

Thanks Trev for directing me to the right section and also for adding the full image...
