I am trying to identify the markings on this piece. Can anyone please help and provide me with guidance about this piece pictured below?
The table ornament shows two greyhounds being walked on a leash by an English looking Gentleman in bowler hat. It measures 37cm long x19cm wide.
The clear marking is that of "BENTON" and underneath this marking there are three other markings; an uppercase "S", a lowercase "c" and a roman numeral "III" (3). Please see the image which contains a ruler above it for scale.
Thank you

Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.
I would think it likely that the name Benton refers to the sculptor of the original piece that this was cast from.
Are there no other marks hidden somewhere in the detail?
