Need help identifying marks please

Post by surynot1 »

I am new here. I apologize if I am not posting in the correct location. I am trying to identify these 3 marks and not having any luck so far. The marks are on the bottom of what I think is a small 8 inch glass / silver oil lamp. There is a cut design in the glass and a small figure on the top which acts as a snuffer. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. [img][/img]

Hi welcome to the silver forum.
Perhaps Hanau pseudo marks, check out:

and compare with J.P. Schleissner & Sohne

I am also brand new (no pun) to this site and forum. Hopefully my first question is appropriate here. I have a few pieces of inherited family silver including a silverware chest with about half and half, Birks Saxon pattern Sterling and Birks Saxon pattern silverplate flatware. In addition to this collection are other serving pieces etc. The first piece in question appears to be an old, slightly battered christening cup. The name Elizabeth is engraved in a scroll on the front. Probably my grandmother - what I do not know is the only markings on the bottom are three numbers 824 - the 4 is not quite in line with the 82, Is there anyone who could help identify the maker etc of this cup for me? I thank you in advance.
