Post by RoyJ99 »

Hi folks, looking for some information on this piece which I'm led to believe is Norwegian.

Thank you

Hi Roy,

Your information is correct, Norwegian.

The manufacturer is Norges Gullsmedforbund, Oslo, Norway.

'NM' stands for Norskt Mönster, a registered design. 'GP' stands for 'Gullsmed Plett', Electro Plate.

Can't help with the date, I believe the company has quite a long history and is still in business today.

Make no apology for the amount of posts, we love seeing shiny things.

Follow up to this.

Trev any idea about the crown mark? I'm assuming it's a makers mark but so far not found any other examples although the pattern is the same as Theodore Olsen's Panser.

To my knowledge the crown is just part of their maker's mark.

Perhaps one of our Scandinavian members can tell us more.
