I found this ring while metal detecting in Victoria BC. On one side of the band the mark shows "MC" and on the other it shows "SAG"I hope the photos work. The only info I have found to date is that "MC"could be 1775 maker from Ireland.

Irish Claddah Ring?
Re: Irish Claddah Ring?
That's a cool find. Aren't claddah rings usually made with a stone? It would be interesting if this piece is worth something though, have you taken it in to a jewelers for an opinion? I'd hang onto it, it is often you fun across one made so long ago.
Re: Irish Claddah Ring?
I ran across this by accident, i believe you will find the ring is modern. For one thing incised marks didn't generally appear until the later 19th c. and besides I have had essentially the same ring. I wonder if the SAG mark isn't STG. I don't believe any early ring would have that ridge running down the middle of the inside. Finally early claddagh rings are extremely rare, and a google image search will find you quite a few examples of yours, or close to it.
Sorry, but good hunting
