Need Help Identifying Continental Silver Hallmarks

Post by joanstreasures »

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone could help me identify these Hallmarks. The Service looks very Art Deco to me, I presume it would date 1920-1940's ? The Hallmarks are slightly different on each piece, so I am including them all plus a photo of the entire service and a close up of the Cream Pitcher. I have been told it is Solid Silver, but they could not identify the Maker or Country of Origin. Any Help would be much appreciated. Many Thanks, Joanie :)

Dear Joanie

sorry to disappoint you, this is silver plated. BB is the marker while 18G, 24G and 30G is the mass of silver used to plate the item, so 18 to 30 gramm of silver.
Anyway, reals nice set.

Kind regards

Hi Joanie,

I agree with Jörg. A read of this article will explain all: http://www.925-1000.com/a_platenumbers.html
