Could anyone shed any light whatsoever on the maker/origin of this enameled brooch.
Looks to me like its Norwegian - subject matter - just cant identify the maker, possibly Danish??
I have been searching for several years.
Now I am guessing.
We had a wholesaler in Oslo called Ivar Kvale, b. 1889 d. 1972 working from 1924 until 1972. He had a lot of enamel jewellery.
It could be.
Regards Tosten
I have seen many similar pieces being advertised on eBay; as being by Svein Kirkhus. But as you have explained, it cant be by him as these pieces clearly have an earlier manufacturing date. I'm sure the maker will eventually come to light. Thanks again for all your research, and your response is very much appreciated :)
My vision is deteriorating, but this mark appears to be posted upside-down (I read it as '925S' with an odd mark), suppose it could be a 'K' if the maker usually oriented his mark in reverse to the quality mark...
