Norwegian or Danish maker??
Re: Norwegian or Danish maker??
It is a norwegian maker. I have seen it many times, but I don't know who he is.
Re: Norwegian or Danish maker??
Thanks Tosten. Could the maker be Svein Kirkhus?
Re: Norwegian or Danish maker??
No.
I have seen this mark from the end of 1940s, and Svein Kirkhus was registrated in 1981, and he used S.K. as his mark.

Re: Norwegian or Danish maker??
Right. I bow to your superior knowledge Tosten. If you do find out who the maker is, could you please post it?
Thanks for your help :)

Re: Norwegian or Danish maker??
I have been searching for several years.
Now I am guessing.
We had a wholesaler in Oslo called Ivar Kvale, b. 1889 d. 1972 working from 1924 until 1972. He had a lot of enamel jewellery.
It could be.

Re: Norwegian or Danish maker??
I have seen many similar pieces being advertised on eBay; as being by Svein Kirkhus. But as you have explained, it cant be by him as these pieces clearly have an earlier manufacturing date. I'm sure the maker will eventually come to light. Thanks again for all your research, and your response is very much appreciated :)
Re: Norwegian or Danish maker??
Will you please write me next time you see one of these things on eBay,
Tosten

Re: Norwegian or Danish maker??
My vision is deteriorating, but this mark appears to be posted upside-down (I read it as '925S' with an odd mark), suppose it could be a 'K' if the maker usually oriented his mark in reverse to the quality mark...

Definitely a K. Its just back to front, and bleeds into the S.
