Re: Burma Silver
Hi Anna59,
Welcome to the Forum.
I'm not aware of any reference that particularly refers to the colonial period of Burma, hopefully someone will prove me wrong.
It would be great if you could share with us any knowledge you have on this subject.
Some details of P. Orr & Sons, Rangoon branch can be found here: http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic ... 38&t=19329" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And here's an advertisement from P. Klier & Co. of Rangoon
P. Klier & Co. - Rangoon - 1903
and from F. Beato Ltd. whose head office, as can be seen, was in Mandalay.
F. Beato Ltd. - Mandalay - 1903

Here's a title worth checking out 'Silverware of South-East Asia' by Sylvia Fraser-Lu

Re: Burma Silver
There's a chapter on Colonial Burmese silver in Wilkinson's book:
Indian Silver 1858-1947: Decorative Silver from the Indian Sub-Continent and Burma Made by Local Craftsmen in Western Forms
by Wynyard R.T. Wilkinson
(admin edit - see Posting Requirements )
Enjoy reading.
