Notice is hereby given, that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, George Bushell and Joseph Edward Bushell, as Electro Platers, at Albert Works, Graham-street, Birmingham, under the firm of G. and J. Bushell, has been dissolved, by mutual consent, as on and from the 4th day of August instant. The said George Bushell will continue to carry on the business of an Electro Plater on his own account and in his own name, at Albert Works aforesaid, and all debts due to or owing by the said late firm will be received and paid by him. The said Joseph Edward Bushell will henceforth carry on the like business at 66, Branston-street, Birmingham, on his own account and in his own name.
As witness our hands this 22nd day of August, 1888.

As can be seen from the above, Joseph Edward Bushell established his business in 1888, after having been in partnership with George Bushell, as G. & J. Bushell. Joseph Edward Bushell entered his first mark, 'J.E.B' incuse and without outline, with the Birmingham Assay Office in December 1891.
