Help in Identification of silver hallmark- British

have buyed over eBay set of cultery
but dont know is it british hallmark or not
as this person have only uploaded one picture of hallmark & that is lion
please help if it is silver or only silver plate

or can it be that it is only silver plate?

It doesn't look like it's going to be a British hallmark (or, more precisely, Scottish because of the lion rampant). I suggest you wait until you receive it and then show us a clear picture of all of the marks.

was lion mark also used for silver plate items??
