Silver Pendant with SuB makers mark

Post by Mowgli »

Hello,

First can i just say what a great forum! I have only just found it and am enjoying reading through previous posts.

I have a question regarding a pendant recently handed down. It is a Silver Pendant with a Goat on it, on the reverse is a mark of 835 (i assume the silver mark) and a Mark of SuB above the silver Mark. It was handed down through German ancestors so possibly could be German. It is the left most pendant in this image:

Unfortunately i only have one image of the pendant available at the moment.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

We will of course need to see an image of the mark before a possible identification can be made.

Thank you for the reply!

I have managed to get a picture of the back of the pendant, it can be found here:

There is a better picture of the front of the pendant also:

Hmmm, well there doesn't appear to be too much interest so far! Would anybody be able to point me in the direction of where i might be able to find out about this piece? Or at least a likely country of origin?

Thanks!

Mowgli,

Yes the 835 refers to silver content. Just to advise that your image of the mark is too dark and out of focus to see clearly. Do remember that there are many times subtle distinct differences between marks, clear cropped images help. I personally have taken numerous shots to get one that is satisfactory.

Hope this helps
