Chnese silver saucer and cup
Re: Chnese silver saucer and cup
Welcome to the Forum.
From your photos, the marks look to be either very worn or poorly struck.
If each of the four marks is represented by the four directions (north, south, east, west), the only mark I can definitely make out is west, whichis 足紋 ("fine silver"). This is a Chinese purity mark.
The north mark may be 新省, probably Xinsheng, a geographical name.
The east mark has as its last character 記, often anglicized Kee in merchant's names.
The south mark is probably that of the silversmith.
It might help if you could clean the marks on both the cup and the saucer and post cropped close-up photos.
Hopefully someone else will recognize the marks and post a more satisfactory answer.
Regards

Re: Chinese silver saucer and cup
The north mark seems to me 浙省,possibly referring to 浙江省 (Zhejiang province). Just a thought!
I agree with David on his interpretations on the other marks.

Thank you for posting better photos.
Unfortunately, the south mark on the saucer is too badly struck or rubbed to be legible. Even so, none of the four marks on the saucer appear to match the mark on the cup. It may be that the cup and saucer were made by different silver masters and originally retailed as as set, but it may also be that, given the different engraving on them, that they are a later marriage.
I agree with FTJJ about the north mark.
The east mark is probably 義記 (Yiji or Yiki, or in older phoneticization, Yee Kee), but I have not found any maker by this name.
The cup is marked 全泰 (quantai). or possibly 金泰 (jintai).
Please bear in mind that everything written here is a best-guess scenario, and that a positive identification has yet to be made. Again, hopefully more information will come to light.

Do you know what is the writing says on the cup?
Thank you guys to spend your time on my questions.

Re: Chnese silver saucer and cup
I just found one more mark on the saucer .
Re: Chnese silver saucer and cup
It appears that in addition to the chop mark of the silver master on the underside of the saucer, the mark of the engraver has been etched on the side of the foot.
The engraver's mark is 勞 "Lao." Unfortunately, even less is known about the engravers of Asian silver than about the masters.
