HENRY WILKINS

Birmingham

Henry Wilkins, manufacturing jeweller, was convicted of receiving 80 oz. of stolen silver from a workman of a local firm, and was sentenced to ten years penal servitude. The police stated that the accused had during two years and a half sold over £4,000 worth of precious metal to refiners, the bulk of it no doubt stolen, but he had evaded detection.

THOMAS WHITCOMBE & SON

Berners Street, later, 59, Constitution Hill, later, 70, Northwood Street, Birmingham

Death has claimed another victim in Mr. T. Whitcombe, electro-plater, of Northwood Street. The deceased gentleman died very suddenly at his residence. The business will, I understand, be continued by the son, who has long been the moving spirit of the firm, and is au fait with all the requirements of the trade.
