Swiss makers mark J???

Post by WarrenKundis »

This very delicate 9.842cm souvenir spoon bearing the coat of arms of the City of Geneva, a 0,800 silver mark with a extremely minute makers mark that has been a real challenge to photograph properly. Would very much appreciate your input.

ps: there is nothing behind the pantina above. The mark was about the size of the head of my wooden toothpick I used to attempt to remove it. Nothing additional was found there.

A secondary question would be, is this finial considered caste? Obivously the twisted barely stem can not be or is it?

Hi Warren

there was a silver Company Jacob in Geneva. "Orfèvrerie Jacob", active 1878 - 1962. I do not have a mark from this Company, but this would at least fit the motiv of the spoon.

Regards
