Hi Phil,
Are you ready for the correct answer and history of your silver frame?

It is a modern, antique reproduction, crafted in Los Angeles, CA and is still being crafted. “RC” stands for Renaissance Collection a small boutique silver manufacturer that specialized in reproducing antique designs. Although the frame is marked 925 it is actually 999 silver. The vertical cherub frame ( RC #1005) was taken from an antique, French, cast bronze, table mirror. The wood backings were cut to form in a North Hollywood lumber mill and the early frames were hand covered in navy blue velvet. Two partner and myself started the Renaissance Collection.

Hope this helps,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Welcome to the Forum.

Can you show us an image of the maker's mark used on your products?

Trev,

It is a simple, small block capital RC 925, later we used "A 925."

Follow up on “RC 925” markings on angel picture and repousse table mirror.

Pb4sc. The “RC 925 hallmarks” you show in lower left hand corner of the angel frame is from our earliest production. Later we switched to an acid etching method of marking the silver and placed on the lower right side foot. The acid etched marking method is shown on gallen813’s photo of our Repousse Table Mirror.

Gallen813. For what it is worth, the ‘repousse table mirror’ you pictured was reproduced from a Continental Silver mirror at my mother’s home. The original had no wood and velvet backing but did have a metal support.

Hello, I have come across this frame, but didn't get a close look at the marks! The back is covered in red velvet. Would it still be from the same production? I'm also in the UK.
