HERRMANN silverware

Post by leah25 »

Hi,

I have a set of tablespoons which judging by the name are German. There is a maker's mark that says HERRMANN and two other marks - an overturned triangles with what looks like AB on top and I on the bottom and a circle with a standing lion.

I can't get the photos to show the marks, so I am posting this as is.

Has anyone ever heard of such a company and could help ID it?

Hello, without a pic it is mostly guesswork - but there was a maker Herrmann from Vienna, a large factory which was part of the Krupp-Berndorf factories, using a lion among other marks. It could have been the maker. Best wishes, Bahner

Thank you.

Do you know when this factory operated and is there a way to determine if its silver or silverplate. I do have the hallmarks but I can't seem to upload them here.
