PENTAGRAM MARK

Post by jewels_501 »

I HAVE RECENTLY PRCHASED WHAT WAS DESCRIBED AS A FIGURAL CARD TRY. IT HAS THE MARKS OF A PENTAGRAM AND THE LETTER P WITH A LETTER R OVER THE P. CAN ANYONE SHED ANY LIGHT AS THE MAKER, COUNTRY OR YEAR PLEASE? P.S. IT WAS SOLD AS SOLID SILVER BUT IT LOOKS PLATED TO ME. I AM HOPING THE IDENTIFICATION OF THE HALLMARK WILL CONFIRM THIS. ANY IDEAS ??

I have a piece with this same mark, so I will be interested in learning about the maker as well. My piece, which is a small nut dish in the shape of a shell with a cherub resting on the edge, is also marked sterling.

Hi,
Would be great if either of you would post an image of the mark.
Thanks, Tom

And I was mistaken-I was going from memory, and thought I remembered that my piece was marked sterling. But it's not-it has the same mark as pictured. At least we know where it is from, which is a great start-thanks, Cheryl.
