There was a jeweler, 'Carl Frey & Sohn' that may have marked this item.

Thank you. Does this mark resemble the marks of jeweler youmentioned? When was he active?

Thank you again. Does this mean that Carl Frey didn't manufacture his own products but was only selling products produced by others?

Hello, hard to tell without a pic of the object. Chances are that - like most German jewellers and goldsmiths of the time - he sold objects made by someone else. Best wishes, Bahner
