0.800 mark

Post by paulh »

This is the mark on the bottom of a cream pail. It is about 4 inches high and of excellent quality. The swan mark had a “Delta” in the cartouche, but it does not show on this picture. Can anyone help with identification?

Paul.

Oops. Forgot to mentions that the "swan" marks was a French mark used , since 1898 on 1) all imported watch cases; 2) items imported from countries with which France had no trade agreement; and 3) items sold at public auction of legal fineness but whose origin could not be proved. The "delta" in the mark indicated the office in Mt.-de-Marsan.
