Quetzal bird fur clip 980 Taxco with possible initials of MD

Post by pearlygirl »

I have purchased a 6" long two-prong fur clip of a Quetzal bird I believe to be from the 1930s-1940s. I have looked at many websites trying to find the initials of "MD" or "MC". I thought I should post the mark here in case anyone recognizes the initials or knows them to be different than what I am seeing.

Because the fur clip's prongs conceal a portion of the hallmark when in the resting position, I have taken the photograph without them. Please let me know if you need a third photo of the prongs for age identification. I have taken a photo of the clip with a tape measure for reference.
