Hi, I have this silver plated canldestick. On the side there are marks " D & CO" and instead of the classic epns there are the letters "ESMC".
What's meanings?
Do you know the origin of these marks and where it's from?
Thanks
Iris

The strange letters ESMC
Hi,
This is pure conjecture, but there was a Brooklyn, NY firm, operating from c.1950, named the English Silver Manufacturing Co. They were manufacturers and importers of plated goods. Your piece may have been made and marked by another firm (D & Co) and then marketed by ESMC. As stated, pure conjecture, but a possibility.
