Unknown D&S marked EPNS Marmelade or Mustard Pot and Spo

Post by german_newcomer »

Hello!

I appreciate help for that D&S maker´s mark that I did not find in the online silverplated marks websites. It is an EPNS D&S marked electroplated and glass mounted pot. Height over all 6 1/3 inch / 16 cm. It is obviously not Dixon & Sons?

Many thanks for your help!
Regards

Hello and welcome.

I don't find that mark in my references.
Doubt that it is Dixon & Sons or Deykin & Sons.

Notice the letter G at the right end. Often, not always, British manufacturers will add the letter of their town to electroplate marks.
Look at the marks on this page http://www.925-1000.com/silverplate_L.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Hamilton Laidlaw & Company has the last letter G for Glasgow, Scotland and T. Land & Sons has an extra S for Sheffield.
Just a possibility, your manufacturer may be from Glasgow.
