I brought this large 14 inch spoon back from Norway when my aunt passed away. I has my great grandparents initials and the date 12/3/1860 inscribed on the back. I was unable to find the marks on the web site so I am hoping someone can help me out. I do not know anything about the spoon except what is on it.

Thanks for any help I may receive.

Left to right:

1.) C, crowned: city mark for Christiania (now Oslo)
2.) R, script: warden’s mark of Ernst Michael Rømer, Christiania mint warden 1799-1817
3.) HS, script: maker’s mark of Hans Bjerregaard Steen (1768-1818); Master 1797
4.) astrological symbol Gemini: month mark, May 22-June 21
5.) 1811: year mark

The 1860 inscription is evidently a later addition.

Hope this helps!
