Multiple Hallmarks

Is it possible to have an article of precious metal stamped with more than one Assay office mark? i.e. an item already stamped with the Swiss Assay, to be stamped with a UK Assay later.

Are there any marks that can be duplicated? i.e something stamped on the front and back.
