Polish silverplated spoon marked with ''Fraget'' Hallmark

Post by sakiskv427 »

Polish silver plated tea spoon. Marked with the ‘’Fraget’’ company hallmark and a second mark I couldn’t identify, it looks like G A T with a numeral in frond. Does anyone know what it means? Any idea about the date? Thanks a lot in advance

FRAGET

Post by silverport »

Hello

The mark in question indicate «2nd» (Roman cipher: II) basic material's quality of Nickel Silver for object's body. GAT is in reality an indication for GAL(VANIZED) = Plated. Period between 1900 and 1914 (1st World War).

Kind regards silverport

«FRAGET» spoon maybe "ROMANESQUE" pattern

Post by silverport »

Hello

Out of a merger between «HENNEBERG» and «FRAGET» it's now «hefra».

Most times in merger survive only those product lines and products which got «o.k.»

In presented very dark photo aren't details sufficient visible. I guess spoon pattern is actually «hefra's» pattern «ROMANESQUE».

Look: http://www.hefra.pl/en/design_wzory.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Kind regards silverport

Hi!
I think, that "IIGAT" is for "Second (II) Quality (GATUNEK)"
